Boston's Sustainable Luxury: The Four Seasons

As the historic town of Boston requires constant work to preserve and enhance its unique buildings; The Four Seasons looks forward to the opportunity to innovate. Recent renovations have reminded Bostonians of its one of a kind connection to Back Bay and its enhanced sustainability practices show understanding that its business sustainability is codependent with its environmental sustainability.

The building was energy star certified pre-Covid and has cut the energy consumption in public and guest rooms from around 14 to around 7 kilowatts per year. It has entirely moved away from plastic water bottles, and now only serves water from infinitely recyclable aluminum bottles. Bevi machines provide the option to refill with flavored water, helping to reduce waste and minimize the building's environmental impact. It has implemented a comprehensive recycling program, with recycling bins located throughout the building. The building also rolled out a composting program for all of their fine dining spaces. It also encourages sustainable transportation options, with amenities such as bike storage and charging stations for electric cars, making it easier for residents to make the switch to electric vehicles.

This sustainability revamp is complemented by the significant building renovations. All new hotel lounges and a new grand lobby designed by Ken Fulk headline the improvements. The Public Garden style design reaffirms the building’s connection to the green heart of Boston. In addition to being steps from The Public Garden, the Four Seasons features a green roof that promotes biodiversity and reduces urban heat load. By being engaged with the local community and supporting initiatives such as the Emerald Necklace Conservancy it also promotes the preservation of Boston's historic park system.

Living in The Residences at The Four Seasons Boston offers the opportunity to enjoy a luxurious lifestyle while also reducing your environmental impact. The building's sustainable initiatives, from energy-efficient design to waste reduction programs, demonstrate a commitment to environmental responsibility. By living in The Residences at The Four Seasons Boston, residents can feel good knowing that they are making a positive impact on the environment and contributing to a more sustainable future.
